Probate Administration
You get guidance through the probate process, from filing to distribution, with attention to Texas court requirements.
Probate administration means guiding an estate through the court system after someone passes. At Rolon Law Firm, we file all the paperwork with Harris County probate court, represent the executor or administrator, and make sure everything stays on track. We've handled dozens of estates in The Woodlands and surrounding areas. You get someone who knows the local judges and the process inside out.
Texas probate can be straightforward or complex depending on the will, the size of the estate, and whether anyone contests it. We handle independent administration when possible, which moves faster and costs less. If the estate is contested or has complications, we're prepared for that too. Most estates we work with take 6 to 12 months from start to finish.
What you experience is regular updates, clear explanations of what's happening, and someone handling the court filings and creditor notices so the family can focus on grieving. We attend the hearings, manage deadlines, and make sure beneficiaries get paid correctly and on time. You're not juggling forms or wondering what comes next.
What's included: Filing the will and petition with Harris County probate court; Obtaining the order admitting the will and letters testamentary or of administration; Managing creditor claims and tax filings; Accounting to the court and distributing assets to beneficiaries; Representing the executor or administrator at all hearings.
Probate Administration — FAQ
Do we have to go to court a lot?
In most cases, the executor or administrator attends an initial hearing and maybe one final hearing. We handle the rest of the court work. If the estate is uncontested and qualifies for independent administration, court appearances drop even further.
What if there's no will?
We still handle it. Texas intestacy law determines who inherits. We file for administration the same way and guide the process. The main difference is we're working from state law instead of a will.
How much does probate cost?
Our fees depend on the estate's size and complexity. We give you a clear estimate upfront. Court costs and filing fees are separate. We're transparent about what you're paying for.
